My family has great taste in music, specially my mother’s side of the family. So, I have also got the same kind of taste in music. Recently, I have been listening to Charlie Puth’s songs because I find most of his songs resonating with my life. They are really pleasing and I’m very comfortable with his songs.

For every music buff like me, the lively voice of Mohammad Rafi lets me relive the irresistible charm of the golden era of Indian cinema, when this stalwart ruled millions of hearts with his remarkable songs. Right from dreamy romantic hits to foot-tapping upbeat party numbers, his prolific discography aptly resonates with every mood and occasion proving the magical power of music. The majority of his monochrome pictures from his recording sessions shows his delightful smile, which lucidly sums up his ceaseless love for his passion.

The groups which I’m listening to on a loop are Seventeen and Ateez. Recently, I’ve started to stan both these groups. Both their songs, dances, MVs everything are just bop. Whenever I listened to their music, I wondered why I didn’t stan them sooner. These groups have their unique styles of music and I love them so much. I wish to attend their concerts some time in my life. Hope these two collaborate with each other in future.

Shreyasi Dey

My childhood favourite still remains my favourite. I always listen to Linkin Park on look. They are gods of rock bands. Among the songs by them, my favourites are Numb, In the End and Castle of Glass.

Somnath Das

Probably Aurora. Her voice, her style — everything about her is captivating. It all started with her Runaway, but it never stopped. Her different voice is all that anyone needs to hear. She’s literally a true angel!

Mehenaz Parveen

Honestly, it is really difficult to pick out one musician or band. Nevertheless, collectively, I feel Akhiyaan gulaab by Mitraz and songs by The Local Train have my heart. The patriotic tunes from the movie Fighter are also on my playlist. Another song which is at the tip of my tongue whenever I get bored of the others is Sorry by Maahi.

Swastika Roy

I have lent my ears to the tunes of Bengali musician Indrani Sen. I am listening her famous songs on loop. I remember when I was in school I got captivated by the song Subho jonmodin that was telecast on a Bengali channel. I am still listening to that magical voice. It makes me calm and serene.

Sanchari Banerjee

Musicians and bands that are on loop in my playlist are Talyor Swift and BTS. I believe Taylor Swift is the biggest musical inspiration and achiever of the generation. Each and every piece of her music feels like a new story being narrated. BTS is a K-pop legend. I’ve heard quite a few K-pop groups, but BTS is the only one that soothes the soul. They speak of self love, confidence and acceptance through their music. Their music has truly broken the barrier of a different language.

There are so many artistes who make wonderful music, but that one musician who tops my playlist and I listen to on loop is Taylor Swift. I love how the songs of her albums stay interconnected and depict an entire story that gives listeners a chance to imagine. The lyrics are immensely beautiful and have poetic meanings. I believe, if magic exists, it definitely is Taylor Swift’s music. I hope her new album The Tortured Poets Department brings as much joy to us and she keeps making such elegant music.

Sampurna Barman

The musician I am listening to on loop is Shubhamita Banerjee. She is my favourite singer from today’s Bengali music world. She has a magical voice. I just love to listen to her songs. Although all her songs are my faves, some of the tracks that are closest to my heart are Jodi bondhu hou, Dekhechho ki taake, Je bhabei tumi sakal dekho and Bol mon sukh bol. I have listened these numbers innumerable times.
