Drake is back and how. The 35-year-old’s new album, Honestly, Nevermind, has broken a streaming record as it has become Apple Music’s biggest dance album in history by breaking the platform’s record for first-day streams worldwide (according to Billboard). And it only took one hour to do so. The record adds to his previous feats of biggest album in Apple Music history with Certified Lover Boy, second biggest album with Scorpion and biggest song with Girls Want Girls.

In a note on Apple Music the rapper has said: “I let my humbleness turn to numbness at times letting time go by knowing I got the endurance to catch it another time. I work with every breath in my body cause it’s the work not air that makes me feel alive.”

His seventh solo studio album leans towards club music and may not sit well with hip-hop purists. For most part of 2010s, he blended singing and rapping, making music that verged on pop. Instead of taking the same route, he reinvents himself. “I know my funeral gonna be lit ’cause of how I treated people” he says on Massive.

It seems the rapper is more interested in reaching a bigger pool of listeners and like always, his music takes pleasant new shapes. One of the tracks is already making everyone talk — Texts Go Green, which refers to what happens when an iPhone user blocks someone from contacting them through iMessage.
