As an initiative to host a health and wellness workshop for the members, LSG (Ladies Study Group) recently conducted a sound healing session with yoga teacher, lifestyle coach and sound healer Harsha Banthia. Founder of Samartha —Conscious Living, Harsha brought her experience and expertise in sound healing to introduce their advantages to the attendees. Held at ICCR, the ambience of the event was set right with the aroma of scented candles, dim lights, incense sticks and soothing music. Harsha used Tibetan singing bowls of various sizes that produce tunes at different pitches and frequencies and further correspond with the vibrations of different parts of an individual’s body. In the session, Harsha not only emphasized upon the immersive experience of healing oneself but also directed the members to reflect and introspect upon themselves as bearers or agents of certain thought processes, before embarking on a journey to detoxify their minds. The session unfurled in several segments of healing starting from head to toe. Harsha explained how any form of pain in our body is a consequence of a corresponding emotional pain that most often remains suppressed.

“Everything is made of vibrations. Sound is nothing but vibrations. Every cell in our body vibrates. So, when we hit these Tibetan singing bowls, which set frequencies, the frequency of our body is created. When the frequency of the sound bowl meets the frequency of our cell and amplification of sound happens, it removes all the blockages and ailments of our body. It can be miraculously helpful for your stress, anxiety and any kinds of aches and pains in the body. It can also be used for cancer patients. So, if we say that a physical spa uplifts your body, sound healing is a spa for your soul,” said Harsha. She also explained how sound healing helps in energising the chakras in the body. “Everything is set on your chakras. Every chakra has its own vibration. Whatever is lacking in your life, you need to work on your own energy. Nothing is external. Everything is internal. You just need to balance and align your own energy which can be very well done with the help of sound bowls,” said Harsha.
