The Ladies Study Group, founded in 1966 in Calcutta, marked a significant milestone in its 58-year history with the launch of its Delhi chapter. Known as the women’s wing of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, LSG launched its Delhi Chapter on February 3 under the leadership of Bhawna Agarwal, president of LSG Calcutta, which has over 500 members from different fields, including art, finance, technology, fashion, fitness, and more. The event was held at The Oberoi, New Delhi.
The Ladies Study Group discusses and exchanges views on various socio-economic and policy issues. The launch was marked by the appointment of the president of the LSG Delhi chapter. LSG governing body member Preeti Goenka appointed Divya Chauhan, chairperson of Amity Arts Foundation and trustee of Amity Education Group, as the president. As a guest of honour at the event, Naina Lal Kidwai, a veteran banker and former country head of HSBC India, spoke about her incredible journey as the first woman to lead the operations of a foreign bank in India.
Abhyuday Jindal, managing director of Jindal Stainless and senior vice president of ICC, attended the event along with Rajeev Singh, director general of ICC, as distinguished guests. The Delhi chapter is set to play a pivotal role in furthering the objectives of the Ladies Study Group in the northern region. It will focus on creating a supportive environment for women to thrive both personally and professionally. In addition to the chapter launch, the two-day LSG Networking Forum in Delhi also included a visit to the India Art Fair, Red Fort and the Parliament House. This two-day networking forum was full of learning, exploration and celebration.
