Trincas, the iconic diner on Park Street, took a step towards inclusivity and launched a menu that makes dining friendly for the visually impaired. Launched in association with Young Indians Kolkata, the Braille Menu was unveiled in the presence of three vision-impaired students from Calcutta Blind School. The menu was jointly designed by these students, members of the Young Indians Kolkata and Anand Puri of Trincas. Actor Koneenica Banerjee also dropped in to support the cause. She said: “I absolutely love the idea and wish other places in Calcutta would have this too.”
Speaking about the launch, Anand Puri said: “At Trincas, we’re not just preserving heritage, we are also building an inclusive future, and to make it more inclusive you need to ensure that things such as this are more accessible for all.”
Rohit Patni, Yi Kolkata chair, added: “Witnessing the joy of the children at
Trincas was a testament to the power of accessibility. This initiative will help more places become accessible to the visually impaired.”
