Food festivals are a unique combination of food and culture and like the previous years, the students of Indian Institute of Hotel Management organised a Mexican Food festival named Tacorritos on January 28. The festival displayed a myriad of refreshing, colourful Mexican flavours. India and Mexico share many things in common, one of them being food as both Mexican and Indian food are spicy, flavourful, aromatic and revives the senses.The Telegraph was there to capture the essence of the event, and here’s getting you the snapshots.

Eminent artist Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharjee along with Balpreet Chadha, executive chef at The Park Kolkata, lit the lamp along with other guests, to kick-start the festival.
The food festival was colourful and vibrant with a thematic ambience and authentic lip-smacking Mexican dishes ranging from Corn Tortillas to Enchiladas, Fajitas to Quesadillas, Burritos to Mexican Chipotle, Nachos, Tacos and so much to choose from.
“Food festivals are a unique combination of food and culture and every year the students of the Indian Institute of Hotel Management organise different types of food festivals portraying the cuisine and culture of countries like Thailand, Egypt, Mexico, Japan etc. The festival creates a momentous occasion of celebration identifying the cuisine, culture, attire, music and dance of the particular country and provides a platform for students to experiment with their acquired knowledge, skills and attitude,” said Raja Gazi, chairman, IIHM
