Located on the 11th floor of Magma House, Pa Pa Ya has various pockets with glass windows but nothing beats this section. This also happens to be owner Zorawar Kalra’s fave corner, that lends a 360-degree view of the city’s skyline. Eden Gardens, Howrah Bridge, Vidyasagar Setu, Park Street... the list of iconic structures you can spot from here is endless. And when it rains, it looks heavenly!

The most beautiful highlight of Club Fenicia is Mist, the 11,000sq ft open-air space that boasts of one-of-a-kind glass domes. It’s a delight to be inside when it’s raining. The domes are air-conditioned, equipped with plush couches with a string of light running across that adds warmth. Thinking of a cosy night-out with your partner on a rainy day? Get ‘dome-d’!

Aura Sky bar & Brewhouse, located at Aauris hotel on Robinson Street, is a rooftop sky bar with a stunning 1,700sq ft enclosed area that offers a breathtaking view of the sky especially at the golden hour when it canvases beautiful sunset hues. Thinking about pre-gaming with freshly brewed beer? Hell, yeah!

The Daily on Satyen Dutta Road is a perfect space for a coffee date with your bae when the sky opens up. Grab a spot in the outdoor section done up beautifully with vertical garden, listen to the rains drum down and sip on a The Daily Cappuccino or the Matcha Latte.

The rain partially fogging up window panes with the droplets making for the perfect picture, a steaming cup of Darjeeling tea and English breakfast and a view of a rain-soaked Park Street. That can only mean one thing. You’ve booked yourself a seat by the window at the iconic Flurys. We totally love the view.

The Swig has a beautiful terrace attached to the mezzanine floor which boasts of tall glass windows overlooking the stunning greenery of Swabhumi on one side and also the old world charm of Raajkutir Swabhumi. The beautiful chandelier will add to the rain-soaked mood.

When you think of a place in south Calcutta that offers an astounding view of a overcast sky, you think What’s Up! cafe on Southern Avenue. The three-deck space with a gorgeous skywalk, is where you want to be if you are looking to enjoy monsoon with your friends. The 50 shades of the grey sky set against the lush greenery is a vision to behold.

Trapeze, the new kid on Russell Street, has a beautiful view of the lush lawn of The Bengal Club as well as the vast sky, thanks to the skylight that’s adorned with seven eagles carved out of stone and hung from the 24ft-high ceiling. If you want to brunch while it rains, this is your spot.

The 120-seater SKAI at Quest mall is a great place to take in the feel of the pre-downpour breeze at and go click click. The al fresco is partially covered which thus let’s you enjoy the open air when it’s drizzling yet not get wet.

Located on top of a high rise in Rajarhat, La Artisan Bistro is a great place to enjoy the overcast sky over yummy food. The Mediterranean decor (think Mykonos) with part-open and part-enclosed sections are monsoon moodmakers.

The Lounge at The Salt House on Shakespeare Sarani is a semi-casual space that is popular for private parties! With glass walls, fancy cocktails and flexible seating, this place is ideal especially if you are thinking of a laid-back monsoon party with friends.
