Housed at Golden Parkk, the modern Indian bistro is spread across 4,500sq ft space, divided neatly into three sections, is airy, bright and wears a high-energy vibe. With 102 covers, the seating is spaced out and comfortable with option of both couches and high-raised chairs and tables. “We are very thrilled about this launch as we have been waiting to come to Calcutta for a long time. Like our other outlets, we will continue to innovate and showcase various aspects of the cuisine from the vastness of the country. We promise to remain true to the Farzi concept — to provide a cutting edge and innovative dining experience to each and every guest,” said Zorawar Kalra, MD and founder of Massive Restaurants that has brands such as Pa Pa Ya, Bo Tai and Swan.
The franchisee of Farzi Café Kolkata, Amit Goyal of Anandshreeji is living a dream. “This is the first time we are getting into F&B industry and honestly since 2016, I had the desire to bring Farzi Café here. 2019 we finalised the deal and finally got to collaborate with Zorawar Kalra. We are looking forward to serve our guests with a post-modern and innovate dining experience,” said Amit.
Farzi Café Kolkata will charm you with their interiors, a palate and soul-satisfying food menu, comforting cocktails, helpful staff and an infectious vibe. The Telegraph got #Farzified in an exclusive first look and here’s what we loved…
VIBRANT: Right from the entrance to the second entry point, one would be mighty impressed with the amount of greenery the place has, which is highly soothing to the eyes. Complementing that are the floor-to-ceiling windows that allow lot of natural light to seep in, which adds to the vibrant feel of the place. Not to miss, best selfies are clicked in sunlight spots, so grab a seat by the window and go click-click. #
TRIBUTE TO CALCUTTA: The smashing interiors of Farzi Café Kolkata by interior designer Ameet Mirpuri beautifully touches upon some of the iconic elements of the city. Right when you enter, you will notice a bookshelf with colourful acrylic books, located next to a wall adorned with black-and-white pictures of old Calcutta, which adds to the warmth. Celebrating Kumartuli, the Flower Market and terracotta in Bengal, is a wall full of taxi yellow masks, flower mural and dome lights with terracotta danglers. For a Calcuttan, the modern touch of Bengal is indeed heart-warming.
SAFETY: If you are iffy about the hygiene of a place, here you can walk in stress free. All the staff of Farzi Café Kolkata have taken both vaccine shots and are geared up to serve you with masks, gloves and face shields in place. Even the plates, cutlery, crockery are all covered with a transparent lid that sure comforts and builds a trust with the brand.
A PLACE FOR ALL: Yes, Farzi Café caters to all kinds of age groups which means you could get your family, child, parents for a hearty meal till 11pm (when government restrictions are lifted). “Post 11pm the place will have a party vibe and when rules are back to normal, we will stay open till 4am,’’ said Amit. Keeping up with city’s love for shisha, later they will serve the same too. Watch out for farzified flavours like Smoki Mojito, Kolkata Misti Paan and Farzi Night.

MODERN INDIAN FOOD
The star of Farzi Café is the menu that boasts of “global comfort food using fresh and robust ingredients and fusing them with Indian cooking styles and flavours.”
The tapas-style menu curated by chef Vaibhav Sawant (inset) — regional head chef of Farzi Café and Masala Library By Jiggs Kalra, Massive Restaurants Pvt Ltd — has a plethora of Indian flavours on a plate. One visit to the outlet wouldn’t do justice to the menu but here are some of our fave picks...
A dish that has been replicated in various ways across the city is Hass Avocado Chaat, Beetroot Gel. A desi and modern take on guacamole, this dish has mashed avocado mixed with chopped onions, tomatoes and garnished with beetroot gel and crispy sev puri. #Droolsome
Tempura Fried Prawn with Nimboo Mirch Air will open up your senses! Tempura batter-fried crispy prawns are tossed in super addictive spicy tangy sauce, served with light foam of lemon chilli and garnished with flying fish roe.
FUN COCKTAILS: Farzi Café offers innovative cocktails. We totally loved the simple yet unforgettable flavours of Chai Pani. Served in a cutting chai glass, this vodka cocktail has the aroma of coffee and orange liqueur, topped with apple juice and Earl Grey fumes. We also loved Vodka Curry, another vodka-based concoction mixed with curry leaves, sugar, lime and irresistible mango foam on top!
