Calcutta Christmas presents colours of Christmas, with The Telegraph

The event was a celebration of unity in diversity

A Christmas concert with music and dance from different parts of India was held at the Baptist Missionary Society on the evening of December 17 and 18. Calcutta Christmas presents Colours of Christmas in association with The Telegraph, featured Calcutta Christmas choir, a men’s ensemble performance and a teen choir presentation, along with dances celebrating the diverse traditions and culture of our country.

After a warm welcome address by the CEO of Baptist Missionary Society and founding member of Calcutta Christmas, Benjamin Francis, a video projection on the true purpose of Christmas underlined the need for love, empathy and brotherhood to help tide over the world’s discord and differences. Songs in different Indian languages including carols and prayer songs celebrated the spirit of the season. Traditional dances from different states of India celebrated the colourful mosaic of Indian diversity.
