If your quest for a spacious and sprawling restaurant is on, you might want to check out Caffeine ‘N’ Carburetors, a one-of-a-kind food destination on Hungerford Street. Spread across 7,000sq ft, with 100 covers, this dine den has six brands under it — The Toad, Iyenger’s Tiffin, Cafe De Columbia, The Afghan, Soi — The Asian Street Kitchen and Wonka’s — serving everything from Columbian coffees, sandwiches, Italian dishes, Thai, north Indian, south Indian to ice creams, all under one roof! The concept is similar to a food court but with twists where one only needs to pay at the exit. Located right opposite Birla High School, this one has a workspace too! “The idea of this place came from my father (Deepak Khullar). If you see the food chains we have like Amber that was started by dadu (Rajpal Khullar) in 1958, Sagar was in 1956... then dad came back having worked at Bukhara and also in Switzerland with a strong French background in culinary arts, Zaranj came about in 1990s when there was not too much knowledge about the fine-dine concept. I think we believed in the fact that our products need to stand the test of time and food needs to keep evolving with time. Now, in the present scenario we have clubs and pubs driving the market but here I wanted to build a space where I could show my culinary skills and have some fun constantly because as a chef you want to be constantly challenged,” said Raghav Khullar , chef-owner of Caffeine ‘N’ Carburetors, who has worked at Michelin-star restaurants like Belon and New Punjab Club in Hong Kong.
