Forty-six students of the Masters of Visual Arts course of M.S. University, Baroda, held an online exhibition on a platform offered by Space 118, Mumbai. Students from all over the country and neighbouring Sri Lanka tackled a number of fascinating ideas through their works in different media — segregation through town planning; beautiful drawings of agrarian life related to childhood memories; violent treatment of medium envisaging trauma, decay and death; addressing mood swings through woodcuts; concern for surroundings expressed through etchings; using the human figure to intensify the image in a painting; using clay to react to one’s surroundings in terracotta sculptures.

Mery Chakma’s use of pin drawing to express the anguish of her peoples is quite outstanding. Nayanjyoti Barman uses multiple media, techniques and materials to explore fascinating new ideas and possibilities. Naphisabiang Khongwir examines the paradox of imposition of roles in her delicate mixed media works.
