How did you and Neon G go about curating the track?

The credit for this goes to social media. We met online during the lockdown as we were introduced through a common friend. We very casually discussed our music plans and then started working on Love Me Now.

When did you start working on it and what were the recording sessions like?

We started working on the song in October. Neon G recorded his vocals back at his side and the track was programmed in my studio. Our friend Kausty helped us by mixing and mastering the track. But yes, we started taking the track more seriously in December and that’s when the actual results started coming up.

Sonically, the song is melodious and has some deep house elements but how do you describe the song?

I simply call it commercial and full of love.

Tell us a little about Neon G and what you think of his voice?

He is an amazing guy with a great voice but very shy by nature. It was great fun making this track with him.

DJ Akash Rohira is known for his Bolly performances and sets, what inspired this song, which has a rather different feel to it?

Yes, Bollywood is my strength and I feel great about it. But one must experiment with music and since I have already done a couple of Bollywood remixes and a couple of Tollywood remixes, I wanted to try something different and that inspired me.

Can we expect more single releases?

Absolutely! Not one but a couple more are lined up. This was released under Violet Music Records, which is one of my new babies... my own music label. I plan to release a couple more and I am also looking forward to giving chances to independent artistes to showcase their work. One of my new tracks is coming up shortly and others are in the pipeline. Fingers crossed.

Does your music label look at any specific genre or style of music?

Well, as of now we are open to different styles of music and have kept that option open. Just like how Love Me Now is totally a commercial track.

What pushed you to come up with such a label that gives indie musicians a platform?

There are many young producers who are extremely talented and they produce amazing tracks but, many a time, most of them don’t get a chance to release (tracks) as they don’t have the right connect. As an artiste, I want to support local talent, so I thought of creating this space.

What are some of the restrictions that come with releasing music on your label?

The first important point is that the tracks needs to be original and touches the heart. The rest, Violet Music Records will take care of.
