Vistara plans todouble its flights to Frankfurtand Paris from October endas it has taken a Boeing 787-9Dreamliner aircraft on lease.Starting October 30, theTata Sons-Singapore AirlinesLimited (SIA) joint venturewill operate six flights a weekbetween Delhi and Frankfurt,up from three a week.
There will be five flights a week be-tween Delhi and Paris, up from two at present.This is the first Dreamliner plane taken on lease by Vis-tara. The private carrier al-ready has two Dreamliner air-craft, which were purchased from Boeing, in its fleet.Vistara had to take theplane on lease as Boeing hasstill not delivered the fourDreamliner planes that wereordered four years ago.
The Federal Aviation Ad-ministration, the US aviation regulator, wants Boeing to make rectifications in Dream-liner’s production line before restarting the deliveries.Vistara had ordered sixDreamliner planes in 2018 buthas received only two fromBoeing. The second plane wasdelivered in August 2020. Sincethen, it has been waiting for the other Dreamliners to ar-rive so as to boost its interna-tional flight operations.
