Texmaco inks agreement with South Korean firm Sampyo Railway for joint collaboration

Texmaco Rail & Engineering has signed a memorandum of agreement with South Korean firm Sampyo Railway. The organisations will pool their expertise to develop solutions and products in the field of railway turnout system. It allows movement of trains between tracks.

While 64 per cent of the Rs 7,800 crore orderbook of the company as of September 30 was from the freight cars segment, it has been scaling up its presence in the railway infrastructure and components segments and the two together constituted around 24 per cent of the orderbook.

Jupiter Wagons profit

Jupiter Wagons has reported a net profit of Rs 81.58 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. Net profit in the corresponding period of the previous year was Rs 24.80 crore.

“We are adding capacity to the foundry at Calcutta while setting up a new foundry at our Jabalpur unit. There are also efforts underway to drive greater backward integration and efficiencies across operations which will further enhance profitability in the wagons business, amidst a buoyant demand outlook,” said Vivek Lohia, managing director, Jupiter Wagons.

Diving support craft

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (formerly Titagarh Wagons) on Monday said it has launched the second indigenous diving support craft (DSC) for the Indian Navy from its facility at Titagarh in the early hours of Monday.

The company is building five DSCs for the Indian Navy, which are catamaran type vessels with required main and auxiliary equipment sourced from indigenous makers.

“We are proud and honoured to serve the Indian Navy’s critical requirement of diving craft through indigenously produced state of the art DSCs pivotal to carrying out diving operations,” said Umesh Chowdhary, vice-chairman and MD, TRSL.
