Tata Power posts over 48 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 939 crore

Company’s board has recommended a dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Re 1 each to the shareholders for the year ended March 31, 2023

Tata Power on Thursday posted an over 48 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 939 crore in the March quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues.

The consolidated net profit of the company was Rs 632 crore a year ago.

Consolidated revenue rose 6 per cent to Rs 12,755 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 12,085 crore a year ago, due to higher sales across distribution companies and capacity addition in renewables.

In 2022-23 fiscal, consolidated net profit also rose to Rs 3,810 crore from Rs 2,156 crore in FY22.

Consolidated revenue grew to Rs 56,033 crore in 2022- 23 fiscal over Rs 42,576 crore in FY22 due to higher availability in Mundra thermal plant, which operated under power ministry guidelines, higher sales across distribution companies and a robust addition in the renewables portfolio.

The company’s board has recommended a dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Re 1 each to the shareholders for the year ended March 31, 2023.

ArcelorMittal Q1 net

ArcelorMittal on Thursday posted a 74.43 per cent fall in its net income at $1,096 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2022. It had posted a net income of $4,125 million for the year-ago quarter. ArcelorMittal follows the January-December fiscal year.

“ArcelorMittal recorded a net income of $1,096 million as compared to $261 million in 4Q 2022 and $4,125 million for 1Q 2022,” the Luxembourg-based company said.

Dabur net falls

Dabur India on Thursday reported a marginal decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 292.76 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2023.

The company, which had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 294.34 crore in the fourth quarter of 2021-22, has proposed a final dividend of Rs 2.70 per share for the financial year 2022-23, aggregating Rs 478.38 crore, Dabur India said.

Consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs 2,677.8 crore against Rs 2,517.81 crore a year ago.

Cognizant income up

Cognizant (CTS) has posted a 3 per cent year-on-year rise in net income for the January-March quarter.

The company offered a muted guidance for the full year 2023 revenue.

The net income rose to $580 million from $563 million in the year-ago period. The revenue dipped marginally to $4,812 million in the just-ended quarter, from $4826 million a year ago.

Hero MotoCorp

Hero MotoCorp on Thursday said its consolidated profit after tax increased 31 per cent to Rs 811 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, riding on the back of robust sales.

It had reported a profit after tax of Rs 621 crore a year ago. Total income rose to Rs 8,672 crore from Rs 7,628 crore in the year-ago period.

TVS Motor net rises

TVS Motor Company on Thursday said its consolidated net profit rose 21 per cent to Rs 336 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, riding on the back of robust sales.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 277 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
