The deliveries of the vehicles will happen in January 2023. Explaining the decision to offer two battery packs, Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles and Tata Motors Electric Mobility, said: “We studied the driving pattern of our Nexon EV owners. We saw that there are two categories of driving range. “One set of customers were driving 30-40 km a day and another set were driving 45-60 km a day. We offered two battery packs — the 19.2kWhbattery pack gives a range of 250 km and the 24kWh battery pack gives a range of 315 km. So practically our customers can charge their vehicles once a week.”

The company is offering four charging options, including a 15 ampere plug point, a standard 3.3kW AC charger, a 7.2kW home fast charger which can add 35 km range with 30 minutes of charging. For a full charge, it takes 3 hours and 36 minutes.
