The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it will hear on September 17 the appeal of US-based creditor Glas Trust Company LLC against a judgment of the NCLAT, which had stayed insolvency proceedings against ed-tech firm Byju’s and approved its 158.9-crore dues settlement with the BCCI.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud gave the assurance during the morning mentioning time upon a request from senior advocate and former additional solicitor-general N.K. Kaul appearing for Byjus.

Kaul told the bench that another application relating to the same issue filed by one of the parties to the dispute was listed for hearing.

“We will list both the matters for hearing on September 17,” CJI Chandrachud assured the counsel. Solicitor-General Tushar Mehta, representing the BCCI, and senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, also appearing for Byjus, endorsed Kaul’s request.
