A consortium of developers led by Srijan Realty has approached hospitality major Taj and Oberoi to manage a business club which the realtors are building along with a corporate office project in Park Circus.

The talks are at an initial stage as the construction of the property, which will have rooms and food and beverage, is going to take three years. Given that the club has many features similar to the hospitality sector, the consortium partners are looking out for hospitality partners.

Management of clubs is still a niche area for hospitality companies in India even as there are a few of them in Mumbai and Delhi. Developers are hoping the trend will pick up over time.

Named ‘The Quarters’, the business club is going to be spread over a 70,000 square feet area of covered space which will include 35 guest rooms, a 10,000 square feet banquet hall which can double up as seminar/conference area, restaurant, bar, café, salon, lounge among others. The club will also have a 100,000 square feet sporting area.

“We are looking out for a hospitality partner as all the facilities of the club, except the sporting arena, are managed in a hotel. However, it is still early days,” Keshav Agarwal, director of Srijan Realty, said on Tuesday after formally unveiling the club project.

The club will be part of a 700,000 square feet office project that Srijan is developing with PS Group and Signum Group on a 5.6-acre plot on Gobra Road. Shyam Sundar Agarwal, CMD of Srijan, said they have managed to sell 2.5 lakh square feet of office space.

“We are open to lease out if there are offers,” he said.
