Navaratna PSU Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), named in the Adani bribery allegations, has said it has not received any documents over the indictment charges. It added that it is unsure if any of the company's 'covenants' have been violated.

Reuters quoted SECI head R.P. Gupta as saying there is no basis for the company to investigate the matter.

"SECI will not be reviewing the order or initiating a probe now on the issue as there is no basis for that. There is no document with us other than the order, on the basis of which we could comment on the issue. I have heard of it only from the media. Further, I am not sure whether any norms have been violated and if anybody has been named in the order."

When contacted SECI spokesperson said “There is no official statement from SECI as of now.”

A tender floated by SECI in 2019 is at the centre of bribery charges.

The bribes were allegedly made when SECI was unable to sign power supply agreements (PSAs) with state electricity distribution companies because of the “high energy prices contemplated”, after bidding concluded for the 2019 tender, the US court documents stated.

Awarded to Adani Green and Azure Power, thewinning tariff quoted by both the companies was ₹2.92 /kWh. The ceiling tariff for this tender was fixed at Rs 2.93/kWh.

"There is nothing against SECI that SECI has done anything wrong. That is no where. There is no mention of any wrongdoing or irregularity on part of SECI," Gupta told PTI.
