Samarth Bajaj had completed his graduation in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California before joining his family businesses that included India’s premiere Jadau Jewellery brand, Krsala™, and a real estate company, Shiv Shakti Constructions. This experience of working for Shiv Shakti Constructions, which has been part of the industry since the 1960s, led Samarth to start his own real estate venture, Trojan Realty, when he was just 25 years. Trojan Realty offered state-of-the-art designs and infrastructure and focused on premium boutique projects. Samarth was also successful in founding India’s first Bollywood-based Indoor experience museum, House of Stars™, with license partners like Dharma Productions, Fox films, Mukta Arts, and Zee Music to name a few, at the age of 30. Soon after this, he branches out to his next entrepreneurial pursuit into an offbeat path in e-learning.
The Designer’s Class™(TDC), the latest endeavor, is India’s first online design education platform with numerous renowned designers providing holistic design education. With a mission to make premium design education accessible, affordable, and engaging for all, Samarth started TDC in August 2021.
The courses at The Designer’s Class™ are curated by academic thinkers in pre-recorded format and includes workbook, demos, and quizzes. Talking about his new venture, Samarth said, “Interior design is taking off big in Tier 2 and 3 cities of India and is no longer the preserve of the big cities where it’s mature and well-entrenched. But the number of options available to potential aspirants looking to enter the field is less or often restrictive as it involves relocating and higher costs. It also leaves out a huge and highly relevant segment of educated women at home who can learn this quickly from their houses themselves. TDC is perhaps, a true disruptor in online quality design education for all irrespective of age, income, and geography. Such a pre-designed curriculum, is the right amalgamation of modern learning and creative melting pot to promote self-paced learning and make learning a fun experience”
In addition to the highly engaging course structure, TDC, recently, partnered with Gauri Khan for a foundational course in interior design. This winsome course centers around helping design aspirants get started in the design journey and land with relevant job opportunities in the industry. Being part of a family who owned businesses for decades, Samarth has learned the intricacies of business at an early age, and is, therefore, successful in bringing vast experience in business management and operations in his recent venture.
