Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Energy profit rises 29 per cent to Rs 351 crore in March quarter

During the quarter, total revenue increased 3 per cent YoY to ₹2,879 crore from ₹2,806 crore in Q4 FY23. The profit after tax increased 17 per cent YoY to ₹1,723 crore in 2023-24 crore compared with ₹1,478 crore in FY23

Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Energy on Tuesday posted a 29 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at 351 crore in the March quarter mainly on the back of higher revenues. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of 272 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2023.

“Profit after tax (consolidated net profit) increased by a robust 29 per cent YoY (year on year) to 351 crore,” it stated.

During the quarter, total revenue increased 3 per cent YoY to 2,879 crore from 2,806 crore in Q4 FY23. The profit after tax increased 17 per cent YoY to 1,723 crore in 2023-24 crore compared with 1,478 crore in FY23.

For FY24, total revenue increased 10 per cent YoY to 11,941 crore from 10,867 crore in FY23.

The board has also recommended a dividend of 2 per equity share of 10 (20%).

Dr Reddy PAT up

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories on Tuesday reported a 36 per cent increase in its consolidated profit after tax at 1,307 crore for the quarter ended March 2024, aided by robust sales in the US market.

The Hyderabad-based drug major had reported a profit after tax of 959 crore a year ago.

Revenue increased to 7,083 crore from 6,297 crore in the fourth quarter of FY23.

SRF net declines

Chemical firm SRF Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25 per cent decline in its net profit to 422 crore for the quarter ended March 2024 on lower income.

The consolidated revenue of the company declined 6 per cent to 3,570 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal from 3,778 crore a year ago.

United Breweries

United Breweries Ltd on Tuesday reported a more than five-fold jump in net profit to 80.15 crore for the January-March period of 2023-24 compared with the year-ago period.

The beverages maker had reported a net profit of 13.05 crore for the April-March quarter of 2022-23.

Voltas profit declines

Voltas on Tuesday reported a 22.75 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to 110.64 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, impacted by higher expenses.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of 143.23 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
