Rolls-Royce and Infosys have signed a strategic partnership for sourcing engineering and R&D services for Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace business.

As part of the partnership, Rolls-Royce would transition a significant part of its engineering centre capabilities for civil aerospace in Bangalore to Infosys, a joint statement said.

Infosys did not disclose the number of people who will move to the company as part of the exercise. Rolls-Royce will continue these complex engineering activities in India in partnership with Infosys.

Kishore Jayaraman, president of Rolls-Royce India & South Asia, said India has grown to become a key contributor to the Rolls-Royce global engineering ecosystem.

Wipro-Verifone pact

Wipro on Wednesday announced that it has won a multi-year contract from Verifone, a global leader in payments and commerce solutions, to drive agility across its cloud services offerings.

Wipro said it would develop new features, capabilities and interfaces for Verifone’s cloud service offerings, enabling seamless and flexible transaction processing for the company.
