Calcutta is among the first choice for Unacademygroup firm Prepladder’s offline foray. Prepladder has announced Neuros - an offline institute for medical science postgraduates. Neuros will be introducing rapid revision boot camps for NEET-PG aspirants.

The programme will be held in batches starting in Calcutta from October 10 to November 6 and in Lucknow from October 10 to November 8. Prepladder co-founder Deepanshu Goyal told The Telegraph that its strong presence in the online space in these markets had prompted the edu-tech company to consider them ahead of other locations. But there are future plans to scale up.

“We have a very good presence in these two cities so far as online presence is concerned. A lot of students out of these locations are already Prepladder students. So, we have good confidence that we would be able to get good results,”Goyal said.

The decision to foray into the offline category comes as part of the student’s preference for exam preparation.

“In medical PG as a category, not all students today have access to good quality offline education. So, there would always be a demand for online, because of the better content. However, offline can provide motivation, because the students are sitting with others. There would be a section of students that will always prefer offline. As an education company, we should be like to be present where the students want us to be,” said Goyal.

“Our online rapid revision programme is already receiving a great response and further with the offline boot camp, we are getting closer to our vision of a complete learning ecosystem,” he said.

Founded in 2015, Prepladderwas acquired by Unacademyin 2020 for $ 50 million. It has over 2 million app downloads, with over 200 million hours of video content, and conducted over 3 million tests.“I think we have some innate strengths that make us good in the medical category and we want to keep investing in this and eventually build a global education platform out of India,” Goyal said.
