Passenger vehicle wholesales for August stood at 3,60,897 units, an all-time high monthly sale.

The previous highest was achieved in September 2022 when the industry sold 3,55,400 units.

Sales in August last year were 3,26,980 units, so there has been a growth of 9.7 per cent.

Retail figures for the industry in August stood at 3,43,000 units compared with 3,19,800 units in August last year, posting a growth in retail sales of 7.3 per cent.

There has been an increase in stocks. At the beginning of August, stocks stood at 2,93,500 units. At the end of the month, it stood at 3,11,400 units, which is 30 days of stock.

From April to August, the industry sales crossed the 1.7 million mark, at 1.709 million, posting a growth of 8.1 per cent.

Maruti Suzuki passenger vehicle wholesales were 1,56,114 units against 1,34,166 units in the same month last year, posting a growth of 16.4 per cent.
