Bengal industries and IT minister Partha Chatterjee on Thursday said the department has scheduled a meeting on August 11 to take stock of the progress of projects at the proposed Silicon Valley Hub in Rajarhat.
Chatterjee said a “cha-chakra” (tea-roundtable) has been scheduled with some of the companies that have taken up plots in the IT hub. State industry and IT department officials will be present at the meeting.
Reliance Jio, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Firstsource and Tech Mahindra were among the companies that had applied for land in the early phases. Expressions of interest for the sixth phase of land allocation at the IT hub was floated by Hidco earlier in February.
The IT hub will be set up on approximately 200 acres of land in a strategic location in New Town’s Action Area-II near Eco Park.
Chatterjee said around 120 participants are expected to attend the meeting, which will follow the existing Covid guidelines.
