Odisha gives nod to 10 industrial projects worth Rs 1,900 crore

The state-level single window clearance authority of the Odisha government has approved 10 industrial projects with an investment of over Rs 1,900 crore and employment potential of 5,000 people in the state with an eye to broadbase the industrial sector.

“The projects approved in the meeting belonged to diverse sectors such as power & renewable energy, chemicals, IT & ESDM, food processing, oil & gas, metal downstream, technical textiles, tourism, and infrastructure.”

“The approved projects will be set up across Odisha with four of the projects being set up in Khordha, and one each in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Angul,” a statement said following a meeting of the authority on Friday.

The list of projects include a proposal by Luminous Power Technologies to set up a battery fuel cell, advanced chemistry cell, power storage, and solar battery plant at Angul.

Silox India will set up a chemical manufacturing unit at Paradeep Industrial Area at an investment of Rs 500 crore.

Happiest Minds Technologies will set up a software development centre in Info-Valley SEZ, Bhubaneswar at an investment of Rs 265 crore.

Hotel Hyatt Regency by MGM Resorts will come up at an investment of Rs 180 crore at New Marine Drive Road, Puri.

IFB Agro will set up an aqua feed manufacturing facility at an investment of Rs 150 crore at Somnathpur Industrial Estate, Balasore.

Other projects approved include the fabrication unit of Offshore Infrastructures and the foam facility of Mehan Industries and a logistic park from SGP Trading.
