Navratri car sales up 57 per cent

Every sector of automobile industry has shown a growth in sales, indicating a clear recovery from the pandemic-induced recession

The Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Association (FADA) on Monday released retail sales figures of automobiles for the Navratri period this year. The sales show a growth of 57 per cent compared with last year.

Every sector of the automobile industry has shown a growth in sales, indicating a clear recovery from the pandemic-induced recession.

“For the first time, FADA is releasing Navratri auto retail figures. Overall retails increased by a massive 57 per cent compared with Navratri in 2021. All categories showed high growth with two-wheelers, three-wheelers, commercial vehicles (CV)s, passenger vehicles (PV)s and tractors increasing by 52 per cent, 115 per cent, 48 per cent, 70 per cent and 58 per cent, respectively,” said FADA president Manish Raj Singhania.

When compared to Navratri 2019, which was before to Covid, total retails increased by 16 per cent. Here, too, all categories showed a positive momentum with two-wheelers, three-wheelers, CVs, PVs, and tractors growing by 4 per cent, 31 per cent, 37 per cent, 59 per cent and 90 per cent, respectively.
