Mindtree on Wednesday reported a 37.3 per cent growth in net profit for the quarter ended June 30 on the back of a strong order book position.
Net profit during the quarter was Rs 471.6crore compared with Rs 343.4crore a year ago. Revenue during the quarter was Rs 3,121.1 crore, rising 36.2 per cent over Rs 2,291.7 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
“This was our sixth consecutive quarter of more than 5 per cent growth in constant currency even in the face of rapid business and technology shifts.
Our order book, comprising a healthy mix of annuity and transformational deals, stood at $570 million, up 13.1 per cent year on year,” said Debashis Chatterjee, MD and CEO, Mindtree.
It is the highest ever order book position for the company.
Mindtree had a total of274 active clients as of June 30. The company has added 3clients in the $10 million plus business group and four in the $20 million plus business group during the quarter.
Net profit on a quarter-on-quarter basis, however, saw a decline of 0.3 per cent. “The sequential decrease was because of a continuing ramp down in retail accounts and deferred spending by few clients in consumer facing segments. Growth was also affected by a cross currency headwind,” said Chatterjee.
