Merged HDFC Bank records gross advances of Rs 22,45,000 crore as of June 30, a growth of 13.1 per cent

In regulatory filing, bank said deposits aggregated to around Rs 20,63,500 crore as of June 30, rise of 16.2 per cent from Rs 17,76,000 crore a year ago

The merged HDFC Bank recorded gross advances of Rs 22,45,000 crore as of June 30, a growth of 13.1 per cent over Rs 19,85,900 crore in the same period last year.

In a regulatory filing, the bank said deposits aggregated to around Rs 20,63,500 crore as of June 30, a rise of 16.2 per cent from Rs 17,76,000 crore a year ago.

HDFC Bank said to facilitate the merger, HDFC closed its books of accounts a few days before the quarter ended June 30, and, therefore, some of the numbers may not be directly comparable with those of the previous year.

On a standalone basis, the bank saw a growth of 15.8 per cent in loans to Rs 16,15,500 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The figure stood at Rs 13,95,000 crore as of June 30 last year.

The bank’s deposits aggregated to Rs 19,13,000 crore as of June 30, a growth of around 19.2 per cent over Rs 16,05,000 crore last year.

During April-June 2023, the bank purchased loans aggregating Rs 11,632 crore through the direct assignment route under the home loan arrangement with HDFC Ltd.

Paytm numbers

One97 Communications, the Paytm parent, posted a 37 per cent growth in gross merchandise value at Rs 4.05 lakh crore in the April-June quarter.

The gross merchandise value, which reflects total payments made to merchants on the platform, was Rs 2.96 lakh crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.

Paytm added that the value of loans disbursed grew over 2.5 times to Rs 14,845 crore from Rs 5,554 crore a year ago.

The volume of loans disbursed grew 51 per cent to 1.28 crore from 85 lakh during the same period.
