Mercedes Benz India is adding three electric vehicles (EVs) to its portfolio this year.
Starting with the AMG EQS 53, a performance saloon, the luxury car maker will launch a locally produced electric sedan, the EQS, next month, followed by the EQB, an electric seven-seater at the end of this year.
Mercedes kick-started its EV programme in India with the EQC launch last year.
Managing director Martin Schwenk said: “We sold out our allocation of EQCs and we have put further orders to our mother plant. Looking at the demand here, we gained confidence in not only expanding our EV portfolio but also locally manufacturing it here.”
