Mercedes Benz India continues to face supply issues even with variants of its just-launched SUV.
The company on Thursday completed its product launch for the year with the facelifted GLE SUV and a performance car, the AMG C43.
The new luxury SUV will be offered in three powertrains — GLE 300d, GLE 450d, and GLE 450 at ex-showroom prices of Rs 96.4 lakh, Rs 1.10 crore and Rs 1.50 crore, respectively.
Even as it starts deliveries of the GLE 300d and the GLE 450d, Mercedes cannot deliver the GLE 450 because of supply issues.
The GLE 450d forms part of what Mercedes calls its ‘top end vehicles’ that contribute to the company’s growing profitabilty as well as volume growth.
The AMG C43 will retail from Rs 98 lakh upward.
“The challenge for us is to deliver to customers their vehicles. We are seeing double-digit growth in our order bookings. But our production is lower than our sales,” said Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz India.
