Maruti Suzuki India Limited, which has the largest showroom and workshop footprint in India among automobile manufacturers, is setting up compact workshops for its premium sales channel Nexa in non-urban areas.
The company on Tuesday launched six such workshops across India in Ateli and Charkhi Dadri in Haryana, Bankura in Bengal, Dahod in Gujarat, Nirmal in Telangana and Ooty in Tamil Nadu.
By the end of FY 2024-25, it will have 100 such compact Nexa workshops, said Partho Banerjee, senior executive officer (service) MSIL.
The Nexa sales channel was started in 2015 and sells Maruti’s premium models, including the Invictor, Fronx, Jimny, Grand Vitara, XL6, Ignis, Baleno and Ciaz.
“About 30 per cent of our Nexa sales come from non-urban areas and so we have decided to have workshops in these places,” said Banerjee.
“These workshops will provide service and running maintenance. Accident vehicles will be serviced at the nearest urban Nexa workshop,” said Banerjee.
