Maruti Suzuki and Honda Cars will make India the global exporting hub for their newest SUVs — the five-door Jimny and the mid-SUV Elevate, respectively.
Maruti launched the Jimny at a price ranging from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh. The SUV will be available for domestic deliveries from Wednesday across premium sales channel Nexa.
Announcing the prices of the Jimny, Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and CEO, MSIL, said, “India holds a significant position for Suzuki Motor Corporation not only as a domestic market but also as a global export base. India will serve as the mother plant for the Jimny (5-door) and will be the first market for its launch,” he said.
Honda Elevate
Honda Cars will launch its latest global SUV - Honda Elevate — during the festive season this year. India will be the first country to manufacture and sell the Elevate globally and will be an important export hub for the new model.
