“We have recognised an increasing preference for feature loaded cars that have SUV-like high-seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the new Ignis with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers,” Maruti Suzuki managing director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said.

The new front grille with U-shaped motif, rear fascia and efficient LED projector headlamps are some of the exterior features of the new Ignis, the company said.

Maruti Suzuki also launched the BS-VI compliant version of its multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga in CNG, priced at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The company has sold over 5.28 lakh units of Ertiga since its launch in India in 2012.
