ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corp, is looking to scale up the workforce, customer base and revenue, driven by rising digitisation demand from Indian corporates.
Since 2002, ManageEngine has served over 2,80,000 organisations in more than 190 countries. But contribution from India to the company’s revenue has been less than 5 per cent, which is expected to reach 10 per cent in the coming years.
A combination of hybrid work, cloud adoption and the government’s digital push will be the growth drivers.
The company plans to hire around 1,000 employees in the country this year for R&D and customer-facing roles
“ManageEngine has existed for 20 years now. We started as a point solution vendor. In 2022, we now have a full-fledged platform that offers 60 different products providing solutions across sectors. When we started, there was high dependence on North America, UK, Canada and Australia because they were among the early adopters of technology. But in the last 4-5 years we see a good domestic drive,” said Rajesh Ganesan, president, ManageEngine.
In India, ManageEngine registered a year-on-year revenue growth of 63.2 per cent in 2021, while the customer count increased by 26.3 per cent, driven by demand primarily from the BFSI and IT service sectors. The company aims to grow its customer base by two times in the next 3-5 years.
Explaining the way forward, Ganesan said that ManageEngine has now set its focus around two emerging technology needs for the enterprise.
First relates to decentralisation of technology in companies.
“We are working on how to make democratisation possible so that different departments in an organisation can consume technology autonomously,” he said,
The tools will also be provided to govern such a decentralised system in line with the terms of service and privacy policies of the organisation, Ganesan said.
Second relates to information security for corporates, which are increasingly relying on hybrid work for its employees following the Covid pandemic.
ManageEngine at present has offices worldwide, including India, the US, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Mexico, Singapore, Japan, China and Australia.
