Three years after the brand Jeep was introduced in India and sold 60,000 units of the Jeep Compass, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India on Thursday announced that it was foraying into the used car business.
The company is set to launch its next-generation Compass in 2021, the compact SUV that the company locally produces in India, followed by a three-row SUV. So, those wanting an upgrade can sell their old Compass to Jeep’s certified pre-owned vehicle business, called “Selected for You”.
The used car business is now operational in 42 FCA dealerships across India, and will be expanded to 65 by August this year.
Partha Datta, president and managing director, FCA India, said, “We are entering the pre-owned vehicle business as we gear up to launch all-new Jeep models in India and Jeep customers will have the opportunity to upgrade.”
