ICICI Bank on Tuesday launched a cardless cash withdrawal facility from its ATMs. The private sector lender has set a per day transaction limit of Rs 20,000 for the facility.

“It is a simple and convenient way to withdraw cash without using a debit card,” the bank said in a statement.

The service can be used for self-withdrawal if customers do not wish to carry the debit card to the ATM.

“We believe that this proposition of cash withdrawal from an ICICI Bank ATM without using a debit card offers a speedy and unique experience to our customers. We will continue to focus on innovations in technology at all channels and touchpoints that will bring more convenience to the customers,” Anup Bagchi, executive director of ICICI Bank, said.

App access

To access the facility, an ICICI Bank customer will have to log in to its mobile banking app, select “services” and “cash withdrawal at ICICI Bank ATM”. He will have to then enter the amount, select the account number and create a four-digit temporary PIN and submit.

Subsequently, the user will receive a reference one-time password (OTP). The individual can then visit any ATM of the bank, select cardless cash withdrawal in the machine, enter the mobile number followed by the reference OTP number, the temporary PIN and the amount. The cash withdrawal request and OTP are valid till next day midnight.
