HDFC Life Insurance declares Rs 3660 crore bonus, 23.14 lakh policyholders to benefit

HDFC Life Insurance has declared its highest ever bonus of Rs 3,660 crore on participating policies. A total of 23.14 lakh policyholders will be eligible for the bonus, the insurance company said.

Of Rs 3,660 crore, the amount payable as bonus on maturing policies and cash bonuses is Rs 2,696 crore. The remaining amount would be payable upon policy cessation by way of maturity, death claim or surrender payouts.

“As a life insurer we cater to four key risks of mortality, morbidity, longevity and interest rate. We are pleased to announce an increase in the bonus declared for our policyholders,” said Vibha Padalkar, MD and CEO of HDFC Life.
