Customers of HDFC Bank on Monday could not access their net banking and mobile banking apps for several hours, with the lender blaming it on a “technical glitch”.

HDFC Bank is the country’s largest private sector lender. In a statement on its Twitter handle, HDFC Bank Cares, the bank said some of its customers were having trouble logging into its net banking and mobile banking app because of a technical glitch but it did not give any details.

Customers trying to log into the bank’s net banking facility saw a message asking them to try after some time. The message, which was seen till late evening, said the net banking system was busy processing heavy load from currently logged-in customers.

Customers complained on social media that they were unable to log in since noon. The snag hit the bank in the beginning of the month when transactions are usually high.
