Goods and services tax collection crossed Rs 1.30 lakh crore (trillion) in February — the fifth consecutive month at these levels. Collections in February grew 18 per cent to over Rs 1.33 lakh crore. Analysts said consistent collection indicates that they are on a stable trajectory despite the pandemic.

This is the first time that cess collection has crossed the Rs 10,000 crore-mark, signifying a recovery in certain key sectors, especially automobile sales, the ministry said.
