Good show by DOMS Industries, India Shelter Finance Corporation

DOMS, which was commanding a grey market premium of over Rs 500 per share, was expected to make a strong opening

Shares of pencil maker DOMS Industries on Wednesday made a stellar debut on the stock market as it finished with a gain of 68 per cent to the issue price of Rs 790.

The other scrip which made its entry on Wednesday was that of India Shelter Finance Corporation. It ended with a premium of 12.5 per cent against the IPO price of Rs 493.

DOMS Industries, which was commanding a grey market premium of over Rs 500 per share, was expected to make a strong opening. It did not disappoint as the opening tick came in at Rs 1,400 on both the BSE and NSE — a jump of 77.21 per cent from the issue price. It built on these gains to spike 81.55 per cent to Rs 1,434.25 on the BSE. Shares of the company finally ended at Rs 1,330.85, up 68.46 per cent.

On the NSE, DOMS Industries jumped 81.51 per cent to Rs 1,434 during intra-day trades. It later ended at Rs 1,302.95, thereby rallying 64.93 per cent. At close, the company had a market valuation of Rs 8,076.56 crore.

India Shelter Finance Corporation made a decent debut. The stock opened at Rs 612.70, rallying 24.27 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. During intra-day trades, it rose 26.77 per cent to Rs 625. It later ended at Rs 543.50, up 10.24 per cent. On the NSE, the shares were listed at Rs 620, showing a rise of 25.76 per cent. The stock ended at Rs 555, climbing 12.57 per cent.

The company’s market valuation stood at Rs 5,818.23 crore.
