BMW Motorrad has posted a growth of 40 per cent with the sale of 7,000 units in 2022 compared with 5,191 unit sales in 2021.

“The year 2022 has been a year of phenomenal growth for BMW Motorrad in India. We have a very strong product line with a presence in every segment,” Markus Mueller Zambre, vice president — sales, BMW Motorrad, told The Telegraph.

The company, which launched the S1000 RR with a price tag of Rs 20,25,000 to Rs 24,45,000 on Saturday, will start deliveries from February.

The company will also launch its electric scooter CE04 next year. “We will have electric motorcycles in our portfolio too.”

With 70 per cent of its sales coming from the 300cc bikes, the company is not looking to go below this segment.

“In the future, customers from the 300cc segment will shift upwards to the 500cc segment or more,” said Markus.

New car models

BMW India will have eight new models in India across segments.

By the end of January 2023, BMW India will have the all-new BMW XM hybrid SUV, 2022 BMW X7 facelift, 2022 BMW 7 Series, new BMW i7 electric sedan, BMW M340i facelift and the new-gen 2023 BMW X1.

The company on Saturday launched the new BMW M340i xDriv and the BMW XM. Locally produced at the Chennai plant, the BMW M340i xDriv is available for bookings.

Deliveries will commence from January 2023. Vikram Pawah, president of BMW Group India, said, “The BMW M340i xDrive is a premium sedan for everyday use that doubles up as a performance machine.”

The car is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 69,20,000. The BMW XM is a completely built-up unit and is available for bookings with deliveries from May 2023. The car is priced at Rs 2,60,00,000.
