Network operators in the alliance will spearhead testing and implementation of the technologies developed through collective research of the member companies and universities

“The AI-RAN alliance has been formed with the vision to spearhead the advancement of society through AI innovations, particularly from the telecom industry,” said Junichi Miyakawa, president and CEO, SoftBank.

“AI will fundamentally change the way wireless services are deployed and enable broad innovation and operational efficiency across the telco sector,” said Mohamed Awad, senior vice-president and general manager, infrastructure business, Arm.

Jan Hofmeyr, vice-president at Amazon Web Services, said the technology developed by the alliance will revolutionise the way consumers, enterprises and industries interact with mobile networks.
