The hospitality major said both the hotels will house Qmin — the all day diner, a bar and a fitness centre besides banquet and meeting spaces.

IHCL had earlier disclosed to analysts that Ginger had closed with a revenue of Rs 143 crore in the first six months of 2022-23, a growth of 42 per cent.

Ginger’s average room rent and revenue per available room have both seen improvement according to the second quarter disclosure.

“IHCL is committed to Bengal and its significant commercial potential. Durgapur and Asansol are major hubs for manufacturing industries. These two signings are in line with the company’s strategy of strengthening its presence in the state,” said Suma Venkatesh, executive vice-president — real estate and development, IHCL.

IHCL has partnered Citi Residenci Group of Hotels for the development of the properties. They own four standalone hotels in the Durgapur and Asansol region.

“This partnership is the beginning and we are working closely to collaborate on future projects across multiple cities and districts in the state,” said Kabi Datta, managing director, The Citi Residenci Group of Hotels.
