The outlets will have more than 200 luxury and designer brands under one roof. While the flagship store in Mumbai will be spread over 90,000 square feet, the New Delhi store will cover 65,000 square feet.

A joint press statement said the Mumbai store will be spread across two buildings in the Fort area that recently crossed 100 years. The building is being designed by architectural firm Virgile & Partners, which has worked extensively on storied department stores globally. The Delhi store will be at DLF Emporio, one of India’s largest luxury malls.

Galeries Lafayette has been known for fashion and experience marketing for 125 years. It offers both French and international customers a range of constantly renewed brands, ranging from affordable to premium and luxury. The Galeries Lafayette brand covers a wide range of segments such as fashion and accessories and decor, through a network of 65 stores in France and other countries.

“India is now home to a generation of young and affluent consumers with global exposure, who are willing to spend on the finer things in life. This is visible in the boom and dynamism of the luxury market. ABFRL’s deep and nuanced understanding of the Indian landscape on the back of our portfolio of designer brands, combined with Galeries Lafayette’s global experience, will enable us to create a world-class destination for Indian consumers and global luxury brands,’’ Ashish Dikshit, MD, ABFRL said.
