Dassault Systèmes sees good growth in India

Launches 3D design and engineering applications in india

Dassault Systèmes, the 3D experience firm that provides virtual solutions to businesses and people, is betting big on India, buoyed by the robust growth in brands like Solidworks.

The company, which is part of the Dassault group, on Tuesday announced the launch of “SOLIDWORKS 2019”, the latest release of its portfolio of 3D design and engineering applications in India.

It also announced the availability of its “Global Entrepreneur Program” for Indian start-ups, entrepreneurs and makers at the launch. Aimed at accelerating the development of breakthrough innovations, the programme is expected to provide an impetus to the start-up community in India. The programme will leverage Dassault Systèmes’ 3D Experience platform, applications, online services and a community of mentors, industry professionals and peers to accompany innovators at various step of their development that includes the early seed stage to late maturity.

Both these initiatives come a time Dassault Systèmes has been witnessing a strong growth in India. Gian Paolo Bassi, CEO, Solidworks, Dassault Systèmes, said Solidworks showed a growth of 30 per cent in the country during 2017, as its focus on small and medium enterprises yielded fruit.

While revenues from this business have doubled over the last five years, Dassault Systèmes is now looking at ways to repeat this feat over a period of three years. In India, Dassault Systèmes has close to 12 brand applications and services, which caters to various industries.

According to the company, Solidworks 2019 will deliver enhancements and new functionalities that will help innovators improve the development process to get products into production faster.
