Saba Personal Care announces the launch of its French formulated breathable range of nail paints in India. The product is focused on the halal segment of Indian consumers. By doing so, Saba has become one of the pioneering caterers of high-quality halal cosmetics products in India.

Saba Personal care is a Singapore Based Vegan and Halal Certified Beauty Brand, the brainchild of Prashant Verma who comes with a very strong FMCG background. Having worked with Unilever, Marico and VLCC, he has experienced business activities across the Indian subcontinent. He is currently based out of Singapore and his brand Saba operates in India, Singapore and USA.

In his professional life, he has worked with Unilever India for 6 years and after that, he did his first stint with Start-up Vyome Biosciences. Vyome was known for its novel formulations for hair care and raised USD 45 million. Later Vyome pivoted and became a pharmaceutical research company based out of the USA. Post this, Prashant joined VLCC Personal care as Head of Marketing. Within 4 months he was elevated as CMO for the VLCC Group which spanned 11 countries and 3 SBUs.

He also worked with Marico which is the makers of Parachute as Director of Marketing for their Bangladesh Business. In this stint, he turned around the Parachute brand which was losing volumes for the last 5 years and made it the growth engine for Marico Bangladesh. In his time, Marico Bangladesh Business moved from about 600 crore BDT to almost 1000 crore BDT making it one of the fastest growing businesses in Bangladesh as well as in Marico group companies.

During his stay in Bangladesh, he realised that there is a market for Halal consumer products and MNCs are reluctant to serve this market segment. People who wanted to lead a halal-based lifestyle couldn’t access the high-quality skincare and cosmetics products crafted solely for them. I had seen a lack of motivation in big MNCs when it came to serve this market segment, says Prashant.

In 2019, he moved to Singapore and started ICPG which is into Vegan & Halal personal care products. After extensive research on products and formulations, he started Saba Personal Care in Covid times and soft launched in India and Singapore e-commerce. In the last 2 years Brand has moved to all platforms in e-commerce and also started offline operations in West Bengal.
