Tata Motors on Tuesday said operations across all its manufacturing plants in the country have resumed.

The announcement sent its shares soaring by almost 8 per cent to close at Rs 96.50 on the BSE.

In a regulatory filing to the bourses, the homegrown auto major said it has restarted operations at all plants with the Jamshedpur facility also getting an approval on May 27.

The company said around 59 per cent of its passenger vehicle showrooms, covering 69 per cent of the retail market, have commenced operations.

Around 80 per cent of the dealer workshops and Tata Authorised Service Stations have started operations in commercial vehicles and 69 per cent workshops have started for passenger vehicles.
