Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) started operations at its third plant in Gujarat from Monday.
In a letter to the National Stock Exchange on Monday, MSIL wrote that “it has been informed by Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt Ltd (SMG) that they would re-start production of vehicles from May 25, 2020, strictly in accordance with government regulations and guidelines and by observing the company’s own concern for the highest safety standards”.
SMG manufactures the Baleno and the Swift on a contract basis for MSIL.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is also restarting manufacturing at its Bidadi plant in Bangalore.
Production will resume from May 26 in a phased manner, in concurrence with the directives of both the state and central governments.
The company officials are closely monitoring and evaluating the situation to gradually ramp up operations.
Mercedes offer
Mercedes Benz India is rolling out a second version of its Wishbox offer of finance schemes. It is offering customers a three-month EMI moratorium on standard three/four/five-year loan tenures. They can also pay low EMIs for the first six months with regular EMIs from the seventh month.
