Cipla reports 32.25 per cent rise in consolidated profit in October-December quarter

The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 807.83 crore in the year-ago period

Pharmaceuticals firm Cipla on Monday reported a 32.25 per cent rise in consolidated profit at Rs 1,068.41 crore in the third quarter ended December 2023.

The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 807.83 crore in the year-ago period.

Consolidated revenue from operation in the quarter under review was Rs 6,603.81 crore, up 13.66 per cent. It was Rs 5,810.09 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

In the December quarter, its total expenses were 8.78 per cent higher at Rs 5,119.81 crore against Rs 4,706.47 crore in the October-December quarter last fiscal, the company said. Total income stood at Rs 6.788.44 crore, up 14.58 per cent.

Colgate-Palmolive

FMCG major Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd on Monday posted a 35.71 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 330.11 crore for the December quarter, mainly led by a double-digit growth in the toothpaste segment.

The oral hygiene product maker had posted a net profit of Rs 243.24 crore in the year-ago period.

Sales were up 8.21 per cent to Rs 1,386.41 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal. It was at Rs 1,281.21 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Total expenses were at Rs 970.14 crore, marginally down during the quarter.

Spandana Sphoorty

Microlender Spandana Sphoorty Financial on Monday reported a 79 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 127 crore in the October-December quarter of the current fiscal on improved asset quality, loan growth and higher interest income.

The Hyderabad-based lender said its income jumped to Rs 657 crore, up 75 per cent, in the quarter under review from Rs 375 crore during the same period of last fiscal.

Net interest income also grew by 60 per cent to Rs 407 crore in the October-December period. The loan book grew 52 per cent to Rs 10,404 crore.
